What is Your Purpose?

Do you know your purpose? The reason God placed you on this Earth? The reason God created you?

Some of us know. Some of us think we know. And most of us are still trying to figure it out.

Wherever you are in the process of discovering your purpose, that’s okay. There’s no set timeline or age when we figure it out.

Some people have extraordinary gifts that they are able to share with the world from an early age. But most of our purposes are a little more subtle. When we weren’t given one of those extraordinary gifts, it’s easy to compare ourselves to others and feel inadequate or ordinary.

It’s also easy to create our own plans or decide what we think our purpose in life is, while ignoring what God is guiding us to do. When you find yourself ignoring or questioning God’s purpose for you, remember Proverbs 19:21, Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Regardless of what you decide to do, God’s purpose for you will always triumph. So, that may leave you wondering what you should do to discover or pursue your purpose.

The best way to discover your purpose is to invite God into your life—into every single aspect of it—your home, your work, your marriage, your hobbies, your relationships with your children, other family members, and friends…into literally everything. Once He is part of your life, you may begin to realize His purpose for you. You may feel a calling to pursue a new career, realize a hidden talent you’ve had all along, or be offered a new and exciting opportunity that could change your life forever.

That’s Him working in your life.

And when He is working in your life, no purpose is impossible.

Keep Job 42:2 on your heart, “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
