What Will You Accomplish in 2022 With God’s Support?
As 2021 comes to a close, many of you may be working on a list of New Year’s resolutions for 2022. Top resolutions for 2021 included exercising more, losing weight, saving more money, spending more time with family, quitting bad habits, volunteering or doing more charity work, and finding a new hobby.
Did you know that about 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail? Or that the top reason why those resolutions fail is because we don’t have a firm grasp on our why?
You may want to lose weight, for example.
Is it so that you can be healthier? Feel more confident? Set a good example for your kids? Have more energy?
Or, maybe you want to cut your spending and increase your savings this year.
Is it for financial stability? So that you can purchase a house? Save for your child’s college education? Retire early? Quit your office job to pursue something you are more passionate about?
If we don’t keep our why in mind, it’s easy to give up on the goal.
Talk to God about your resolutions. Ask Him to help you find and keep your why in mind as you work toward your goal. And if you find yourself struggling or moving backwards, ask God for his love and support.
Keep Lamentations 3:22-23 in mind, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
It doesn’t matter how many times you fail. God’s love for you is limitless. He wants you to succeed and reach your full potential. Every single day is a new opportunity for you to make progress toward your goal. Just think, you have 365 opportunities to make progress this year!
With God by your side, 2022 can be your year. Trust in Him, accept His love and support, and solidify your faith.
Remember Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” With God’s love on your side, you can accomplish anything—including those New Year’s resolutions.
